It is important to read this as these apartments due to their special nature are classed by the regional government as "Tourismo" and have certain restrictions, in particular.
- Normal Spanish VAT of 21% applies not the usual reduced 7% property tax
- Properties must be made available for rental for a certain timescale each year (regional government restriction for privilege of beach front)
- Banks may be restrictive in lending on these properties if a mortgage is required.
