The Costa Calida is the "warm coast" of Spain and here on the shores of the Mar Menor and Mediterranean sea you will find six Polaris World resorts offering something for the whole family.

 

The Costa Calida is a 250km stretch of coastline from the town of El Mojon in Alicante province to the north to the town of Aguilas on the boder of Almeria in the south. It inlcludes the Mar Menor sea, a warm lagoon that connects to the Mediterranean and the La Manga strip famous for its high rise apartments and the upmarket La Manga club with its three golf courses and sports facilities. Temperatures in the Murcia region average 21 degrees centigrade and there are over 300 days of sunshine with warm, dry winters and long hot summers. The World Health Organisation classes the region as one of the healthiest in the world.  

 

The Polaris World Mar Menor resort is closest to the Costa Calida coastline. Just ten minutes from the airport at San Javier and fifteen minutes from the new airport at Corvera. The Polaris World La Torre resort is the largest resort in the region. With a 200 room Intercontinental Hotel and many bars and restaurants the La Torre golf resort is a 15 minute drive from the Costa Calida coastline.

 

Polaris World Hacienda Riquelme is close to the town of Sucina. Connected to the coast at San Javier by a new motorway which opened in December 2009 the resort at Hacienda Riquelme is 15 minutes from Murcia airport and 15 minutes from the Mar Menor and the beaches of the Costa Calida.

 

At Polaris World El Valle resort the clubhouse offers views from the mountains as far as the Mar Menor coast around 25km away. El Valle is further from the coast than the other Polaris resorts and offers a tranquil setting in front of the mountains just 15 minutes drive from the centre of Murcia city.

 

Polaris World Terrazas de la Torre is the latest resort in the Murcia region. Close to La Torre resort it is a 15 minute drive to the Mar Menor and Costa Calida. The resort offers a par 72 Nicklaus designed golf course and town centre facilities for the whole family.

 

 

The Polaris World Condado de Alhama resort is closer to the Mediterranean coastline at Mazarron, a 20 minute drive from the resort. The beaches of the Mediterannean coast at Mazarron form part of the Costa Calida coastline. Unlike the calm water and narrow sandy beaches of the Mar Menor the beaches here offer a mix of rocky coves and long sandy beaches.
