After several years of obtaining planning permission to convert the old Hacienda (Spanish Mansion house) Polaris World finally obtained permission in September 2009. Initial preparation work has been done since that time and now a specialist construction company has been brought in to complete the works.

 

Hacienda Riquelme is arguably the most picturesque Polaris World resort in a beatiful countryside setting with 15km views as far as the Mar Menor sea. Hacienda Riquelme has a close community feel with a very active residents committee that installs a certain pride and friendly atmosphere. The par 72 18-hole golf course is one of the best and most challenging at Polaris World.

 

The town centre at Hacienda Riquelme will be the first at Polaris World to be converted from an existing historic building. It ensures Riquelme retains a true "Spanish" feel with this tranquil and peaceful resort located in an ideal position with a picturesque backdrop of the mountains behind. The local countryside is ideal for walking and cycling. Bus services also run to the other Polaris World resorts. The local town of Sucina offers shops, bars and restaurants. Next to Hacienda Riquelme is Peralaja Golf Resort and there are a number of courses close at hand with Sucina claiming the title "Capital of Golf for Murcia".
