Hacienda Riquelme Resort : Polaris World Golf Resort Murcia

 

The resort of Hacienda Riquelme opened in December 2007 for the first residents. The par 72 golf course opened in June 2008. Hacienda Riquelme is located near the town of Sucina and based just 15 minutes from the Polaris World resorts of El Valle and La Torre.

 

The resort boasts a splendid 18 hole par-72 golf course designed by Nicklaus Design. An ideal choice if you need an apartment now or this year with resale property and bank prices starting from under 70,000 Euros.

 

 

The Hacienda (large country mansion) at this resort was previously the home of the Riquelme family. This splendid building has been converted and extended to provide the typical town centre facilities you would expect on any Polaris World resort including bar, restaurant, supermarket, pro shop and club house.

 

The nearby town of Sucina offers town facilities within easy reach. There are a number of golf courses planned and in the course of construction within the immediate area including the adjacent Peralaja Golf. The city of Murcia is just 20 minutes from the resort. San Javier (Murcia) airport is 18 minutes drive and the new Corvera airport will be 20 minutes away. A new highway between the coast and Murcia city opened in January 2010 and passes just 2km from the resort making Hacienda Riquelme resort very accessible.

 

Just outside the resort is a train station on the single line between Cartagena and Murcia city. The station closed some years ago and the residents are now petitioning for the re-opening of the station. If successful it will mean a 30 minute ride to Cartagena, a 25 minute journey into the centre of Murcia city and a connection to the high speed rail network throughout Europe.

The countryside available on the doorstep of the resort offers fantastic views across the plain to the Mar Menor coastline. The roads are safe to cycle and new bicycle paths now stretch all the way from the resort to the coast and Murcia city. The resort is ideal for golfers and families seeking a peaceful location. Keen walkers can find many picturesque walks in the area.

 

In addition there is a separate sports area on the resort with several tennis courts, an outdoor gym and basketball court. There is a full driving range, putting green and pro shop.
