2 April 2012: In a recent poll conducted for Living Magazine the region of Murcia was voted as one of the top destinations in the world for property investment. Murcia was voted 22nd out of 27 top destinations. The survey looked at several factors including potential for capital appreciation and rental income. This is quite an achievement for Murcia with the list being largely dominated by South American countries such as Perus, Brazil and Ecuador. Only three European destinations made the shortlist which included Dublin and Paris.

 

Murcia saw a property boom in the period 2002 through to 2007 which was cut short by the credit crisis. However a proportion of the property built in those years went unsold as the credit crisis unfolded and it is now possible to snap up properties in the hands of banks at a fraction of their original price. This huge price fall coupled with the recent investment in Murcia, a new airport set to open in 2012, work beginnning on the Paramount Theme Park and a high speed rail link all combine to help Murcia make the list of top property investment regions worldwide.
